Just a reminder that the dedication of Deri’s plaque will be on October 11th from 2-3 at the club. This will be very brief and anyone who wishes to speak is most welcome to do so.
There will be a brief reception with the family afterwards at the club. Beverages and simple snacks will be provided. This is rain or shine.
Even if you did not know or play with Deri, let’s have a decent turnout for the family.
Also, there will be a celebration of Deri’s life at Mad River Glen on Sunday the 12th from 2-4.
P.S. Please check the lost and found in the club house. There are lots of items there including a folding chair.

Delayed Start for Tournament
Due to wet court conditions the start to today’s tournament is pushed back by two hours.
2025 Tournament and Mixer Schedule, Saturday
The weather forecast for Saturday is looking cloudy and comfortable.
Five women’s teams and five men’s teams teams will be competing on Saturday August 30, with women in the morning and men in the afternoon, followed by finals and a potluck social.
Competitors will receive an email this evening with more detail as we are still working out the detailed timing. The schedule here is approximate. Ladies, plan to arrive no later than 8:30 for warm-up, earlier if you prefer more than 15 minutes. Men, arrive no later than noon for warm-up.

2025 Tournament and Social Update
Hello Tennis Friends,
Things are shaping up nicely for our Labor Day weekend tournament and social and the long-range forecast looks good. We have five women’s teams and three men’s teams entered so far. There is room for a couple more men’s teams and one women’s team without having to add a second day. If you are interested in entering a team, please do so by end of Wednesday to [email protected], and then we will know the blocks of time needed. The current plan is to have women play in the morning and men in the afternoon on Saturday August 30, with Sunday as a rain date.

We’ll be back in touch Thursday evening (or Friday) with team and scheduling details.
All members are welcome the entire day and especially to the late afternoon/evening championship matches and potluck social gathering. We hope to see you and celebrate tennis!

Meier Plaque Dedication
As many of you know, Deri Meier passed away in June. Deri was very active in the running of the club. Members have donated a plaque in his memory to be mounted next to his wife’s, Suzanne’s plaque.
The dedication ceremony is planned for Saturday, October 11 at 2:00 at the club, rain or shine. There will be a small gathering afterwards. All are invited.
The Meier family will be joining us.

Labor Day Weekend 2025
Hello Tennis Friends,
We plan on having our annual tournament and social again on Saturday and/or Sunday of Labor Day weekend.
We’re going to change it up this year and have women’s doubles and men’s doubles in celebration of all the effort and progress the women have made in their clinics.
The format and day(s) will be similar to previous years based on number of teams entered, weather, and other factors. Priority will be Saturday with Sunday as rain date and/or overflow. Refer to last year’s post for details, https://www.madrivertennis.com/labor-day-weekend-2024/.
Start planning ahead, send in your teams and availability as soon as possible to [email protected]. Please indicate specifically when you will be available Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon, Sunday morning, and/or Sunday afternoon with as much flexibility as possible and we will try to accommodate all.
